About Us
Our history begins in 1958, the year in which Luciano Bettaccini began producing footwear at an artisanal and family level according to the traditions of the time. In 1977 he began the activity in an organized form and was later joined by his two nephews Enrico and Paolo, who together with other family members and close collaborators, made the company grow exponentially, becoming a leader in the leather footwear sector.
Our two lines Calzoleria Toscana and Rosso Fiorentino, the beating heart of our company, represent the perfect synthesis between the passion, commitment and dedication that we put into the art of shoemaking and the investments in new-concept machinery and style research in compliance with the spirit of Tuscan artisan production.
The artisan knowledge, passed down from generation to generation, is evident in our creations, the result of hard work and almost maniacal attention, peculiarities that make our footwear original products capable of giving a touch of elegance with a unique character.
Each of our items is produced using materials of Italian production and workmanship, which is why we can proudly state that our footwear is an absolute manifestation of the purest Made in Italy.
All our shoes are handcrafted in the heart of Tuscany, and thanks to their high quality, they are able to give any outfit a touch of elegance from times gone by.
Over the years we have improved the quality and quantity of our footwear, above all thanks to the passion, commitment and dedication of our work team as well as investments in new-concept machinery and style research respecting the spirit of Tuscan artisan production.
During our history as artisan producers of Made in Italy footwear we have developed the technique of dyed in garment (dip dyed Shoes). In short, the leather shoe and leather sole when it reaches the finishing stage is put in a "Bottale" (a type of large washing machine) where it remains for eight hours where it is washed and dyed with natural vegetable processes and products. After that the shoes are put back in shape to rest for at least two days before being finally finished for the final consumer. This process gives the shoe a unique and particular appearance as well as a true natural vintage style and a unique softness to the shoes that will last over time. we have filed the patent for this process. Ref Patent no. 0001424126. As Tuscan craftsmen, in a contradictory spirit for the workmanship itself (leather and hide shoes would have as enemies the water that can normally ruin them) we were inspired by the famous Tuscan painter "Rosso Fiorentino": he was hated by the Papacy for his introverted character and enemy of the church but loved for his masterpieces and in fact always commissioned by the latter. a perfect contradiction of a great Tuscan, like the shoes made in vegetable dyes and washed in water.
